Pre-A1 Starters

Pre A1 Starters is the first of three Cambridge English Qualifications designed for young learners. These tests introduce children to everyday written and spoken English and are an excellent way for them to gain confidence and improve their English.

The tests are written around familiar topics and focus on the skills needed to communicate effectively in English through listening, speaking, reading and writing.

A1 Movers

A1 Movers is the second of three certifications. At this level, children learn to understand basic instructions or take part in simple conversations. Students can understand basic notices, instructions or information and complete basic forms and write notes, including times, dates and places.
The test covers all major regional accent variations of Standard Received Pronunciation “London English”. It includes American varieties of English as part of the listening test only.

A2 Flyers

A2 Flyers is the third and final certification for young learners. At this point all students should be able to understand simple written English, communicate in familiar situations, understand and use basic phrases and expressions and interact with English speakers who talk slowly and clearly. The structure of the course is based on real-life situations that students frequently encounter in their every-day lives.

There’s no pass or fail – every child gets a Cambridge English certificate which celebrates their achievements.
